I had a fab time at Millie Moon in Frome in Somerset on Saturday responding to a HAT EMERGENCY! The shop is full of tempting goodies, and the hatters who came along to create were so welcoming. I think Frome has so much going for it - some great vintage boutiques and galleries. I could really imagine living here. An arty community and easy access to London, Bristol and Bath.
Take some old embroidered table mats or napkins and cut out those decorative embellishments that you love leaving a border all round. Iron some bondaweb to each piece and then sew to a cheap plain cushion cover as appliqués. Use the zig zag stitch on your sewing machine.
You'll create something beautiful that looks just like an heirloom!
Week 5 sees you making this lovely Valentine card which can be hung up as a decoration.
First cut out two identical heart shapes from thin card. Use spray mount to cover the hearts in fabric.
Cut out individual letters from magazines and newspapers to create your own 'secret' message. Stick onto the fabric of one of the hearts letter by letter with glue.
Looking for a quick cheap way of changing the look of your table? Try this fab lacey plastic table-cloth fabric! I got it from one of those shops that sells everything on Deptford High Street. At £3.50 a metre you really can't go wrong.
